If you are a solo traveler (or with a group) seeking to escape the stressors of everyday city life, then it’s time to immerse yourself into nature! If you’re like me, and you don’t want to sacrifice the small creature comforts, then Glamping is a great way to have it all!
“Glamping, also known as luxury camping or glamorous camping, is that escape you’ve been meaning to take. It’s that little break from the hustle and bustle. It’s a moment by yourself in a secluded tree house.”
Luxurious tent-living is not a new thing, it’s been around for ages. In the 16th century, the Scottish Earl of Atholl prepared a lavish experience in the Highlands for the visiting King James V and his mother. Here, the Duke pitched lavish tents and filled them with all the provisions of his own home palace. With the Internet, a new form of luxury nomads travel the globe and enjoy their freedom to live and work in style, without the confines of a conventional life fraught with modern stressors.

(Maybe next time I’ll be more bold and remote, but probably not go solo.)
My experience was so pleasant and unique that I am finding myself revisiting the site over and over again, discovering so many outstanding places to visit all over the world. In fact, the more I see the photos of these out-of-this-world, off the beaten path places, I am less inclined to ever want to stay in a big, commercial hotel or resort again! The hosts of this property were very attentive, and focused on making sure their guests were comfortable and had so many little touches. From the heated mattress, a fan, a mini-sink, fridge and a lovely atmosphere with the twinkly lights at night that you could turn on from a remote next to your bed.
You can get lost in travels while navigating this site and their are so many imaginative dwellings to visit. Here’s one in Costa Rica, enveloped in the rainforest, near the coast, that’s a refurbished airplane 727 with two air-conditioned bedrooms and even a swimming pool on the property! This is truly for the upcycled, eco-conscious traveler that enjoys a clever way to recycle the obsolete. I believe this will become a much needed and growing trend!
Another one that intrigued me was a “Uniquely Restored Rice Warehouse Rental For Vacation Getaways in Bali, Indonesia” which is in the most artsy town of Ubud. It also has a swimming pool (one of my must haves, plus near water or a beach)
